I once made rather similar "I quit" post. However I was fucked over by extremely obfuscated game mechanics back in Legacy while OP was directly told by the game that they could travel back to their Hearth. Op didn't, and is now complaining that they died as result of this action.

One game can not appeal to all men.

I'm not a degenerate from your fantasies.

The best way is to talk to other players and befriend them. Or if you are antisocial read on the forums/wiki.
tyrtix wrote:If there's always someone like me who amplify the delusion of those players, there's always someone like you, trying all they can to make other's life as miserable as they can, and enjoying that, so in fact, it's YOU making up the delusional ideas those players have about the game, i'm just telling the truth, and that truth is why after 7 years in this game i still see very few new players coming in and remaining after the bashing they get.

There are no new players because your solution to the problem is amplifying bad ideas of inexperienced players in stead of teaching them the game.
I am an increasing factor to the player population in game. You are just assuming way too many things.
I am sorry if I triggered you somehow I didn't mean to be mean to you. Please accept my apology.
OP is true: way to go.

random new players throwing their 2 cents into the pot after leaving forever should not be the way to develop a long term project like this

This poor guy is at his first game experience here (a game that btw gives you zero informations on how to play it, and with a wiki that is outdated as hell), and all you can do is bash him and tell him how dumb he was?

Then you complain about this game having few players. Not surprised if this is the welcome reserved to newbies. How about trying to teach him and giving some constructive criticism, instead of just laughing at him and calling him a retard?

The point is this game simulates reality and you have to do what you have to do to survive. You have to think that you are going out into the wild and at any time someone with much better gear and stats than you with bad intentions can attack/kill you without hesitation. You can't be mad like OP is when things don't turn out to be roses and sunshine and someone wants to kill you for your cape. You have to be prepared for when shit hits the fan. Its not hard to avoid PVP if you settle far away from high traffic areas and build a high ql snejjka/knarr so people cant catch up to you.

and those that are most toxic here (at forums) are often enough those that would get their teeth kicked in RL ... if they'd ever leave their rooms ... that much for "simulates reality" ...

Complaints like OP are incredibly unpopular opinions, unfortunately.

If it's any consolation, I've made some improvements to the Wiki page of Snekkja. Hopefully this will explain the two critical things to know:

1. Drop the slave key to the water to prevent stealing the ship, if someone faster than you is chasing you and it's inevitable you will get caught.

2. You can Travel to home when knocked out, after a short while. Being on Snekkja shouldn't prevent this (Snekkja will of course be left behind but you can retrieve it later with a new key.)

I can concede that point 1. isn't that obvious but 2. should be rather clear since, as I already mentioned, game literally gives you a message that you can do it. I still went extra mile in case OP or some other people somehow have misunderstood the entire "Travel to Hearth Fire" -mechanic. (It's part of tutorial quest chain, take that as you will.)

What fucked up reality do you live in?
Even assuming there were no laws and no morality preventing you from killing someone else, attacking somebody (even someone with less physical strength than you) is not that easy and it can be risky IRL.
A lucky punch IRL is enough to KO you, even if you are the strongest one. An arrow will at least slow you down, if not kill you, allowing the shooter to escape. Your full armor won't allow you to run properly, let alone chase someone for miles. Drinking 10 litres of water won't allow you to run for a longer time. Even if you have a great sword, attacking someone wielding an axe is a risky choice. Etc...

This game (like most other games) has NO realism when it comes to how PvP works. So don't tell me it simulates reality when it comes to players murdering randoms.
The game gives you 0 chance of fighting back if you're not built for it (or even if you are but your stats are significantly lower), and zero chances to escape (unless you're extremely close to a safe spot) since it's unlikely you have more water on yourself than a PvPer does.

So take your bs excuse elsewhere.
