What is the plural version of auroch?

Postby Jacob_Lee » Thu May 27, 2010 6:03 pm

I've heard three possible plural versions, auroch, aurochs and aurcochosen. What is the proper plural term?

I just say auroch. Used in a sentence: "Wow, look at all the auroch on that heath."

Also:

"These auroch are a pain in the ass to tame if you don't know how to do it."
"God will strengthen."

Singular is actually aurochs. I pluralize it as aurochsen, but apparently aurochs is the proper plural.

In German its:

singular-> der Auerochse
pluralis-> die Auerochsen

Not sure what it is in Swedish or even English though.
