I liked the permanent death, and the co-operation included in the game. Team up with a bunch of friends, and create a community village. Where each person is needed. Unlike most multiplayer games, like Minecraft or Terraria, where everyone can do everything. In HnH, you have to dedicate your character to something specific, if you want to be proficient at it. Now if I could get my friends to stop quitting after a month...
I like watching a settlement expand and grow, looking back at old screenshots then comparing it to how the place is now gives a sense of achievement, atleast for me.
