PvP means more than stabbing someone or knocking them out and taking their stuff, it's also about destroying enemy infrastructure and interupting their communications.

KOing someone and building a box around his HF after stealing his pickaxe.

Not long after I started playing HnH, my group found a korean squatting in our mine. So we KO'd him and looted him.

We then proceeded to claim his HF and build a claimed fence over the exit. I guess the poor guy didn't have vandalism since he was there for three weeks before we let him go

That is the real essence of PvP, not the pretty combat side.

You mean petty combat side? idk how pretty could come into the context.
Anyway yeah, that sounds pretty hilarious.

Remember that "pretty" is relative and comparative, but I do have to agree with "petty" more.

Most successful commercial open PvP games have some sort of anti-harassment policy. This doesn't mean you can't gank people, but you better have a reason for spawn camping them, following them around like a stalker, etc.

This sucks...
I hate when I can't drive people out of the game because some mods will ban me.

If there's in-game bans, I'm out.

EDIT: Reading through the site, apparently, there's this "Alignment" system, where if you do bad things, your alignment goes down, and if you die when your alignment is down, you lose more skill points. Sounds a little dumb, but whatever.

I think everyone except HnH has tried something to discourage griefing activities. Here, we celebrate it like it was a god.

Well, to be fair, I think it's more accurate to say that we have these kinds of insight. To be honest, I don't mind measures to "discourage griefing activities" per se; it's more that the vast majority of such that are either suggested or tried in other games are the kinds of measures that will devolve the game in question into a politics-ridden hole of GM bureaucracy. And that's not really what we want.

This actually looks kinda cool, except the combat system that needs abit of fixing, but it's alpha, so things will get changed. Slightly reminds me of Wurm that I have been playing like batshit crazy lately, so I guess you can count me in.
