Well, to be fair, I think it's more accurate to say that we have these kinds of insight. To be honest, I don't mind measures to "discourage griefing activities" per se; it's more that the vast majority of such that are either suggested or tried in other games are the kinds of measures that will devolve the game in question into a politics-ridden hole of GM bureaucracy. And that's not really what we want.

That's one of my favorite posts from jorb and should be more widely known as the manifesto for open-world gaming.

My opinion is that permadeath is the perfect anti-griefing mechanic. The devil is in the details, though. We certainly don't see some of behaviors you find in other games, but I'm not sure if that's due to lack of population or another factor.

I was just trying to be dramatic and funny with that statement.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

When I read permadeath I was all over that until I found out there's just death penalties. Not sure if that branches down to permadeath, but if I die and I'm revived I'm not too interested haha.

I hope you at least make a new character on death. That's one of the "feelisies" things I like from permadeath. And can add a bit of depth from becoming new people when you die.

Is there actually someone out there willing to spent 10,000 euros for an ingame castle rental in a game that isn't even a game yet???
