Description from IndieGoGo

We are thrilled that you have decided to check out our game project LIFE IS FEUDAL, and we are excited to have the opportunity to explain to you what we are trying to achieve! Everyone on our team are highly experienced gamers, and we just can’t get enough of hardcore MMORPG games! Almost 3 years ago we decided to build our own online world, in which players could immersive themselves in a highly realistic medieval environment, and so LIFE IS FEUDAL was born. Being huge MMORPG fans, and being fans of medieval-themed titles, a realistic medieval scenario was an easy choice for us as a setting. Although our team doesn’t have a large rolodex of past titles, LIFE IS FEUDAL comes from the heart. The quality of our current game is a testament to our commitment and love for what we do, and if anyone doubts that a start-up team can accomplish the impossible and build a large and vast MMORPG, check out LIFE IS FEUDAL! For the past 3 years we have worked very hard and diligently on putting together the most impressive PC Sandbox MMORPG.

Your objective is not only to survive, but to find a way to prosper, build, or join an existing community. How would you fend for yourself? Where would you live? How would you defend against and fight off other players and predators from the wild? Will you establish, or will you join a peaceful community, and would you even if you could? Perhaps you are the Mercenary type looking for solitude and isolated living. Become a conqueror. Or a wanderer. The choice is ultimately yours, and LIFE IS FEUDAL offers you the freedom to create your own destiny and challenges you to thrive and survive.

Image
LIFE IS FEUDAL has a tentative official release date of 2015, but this is subject to change and does not mean the game will not be available to download and play online a long time before that! The truth is, we plan to have an early ALPHA available right after successful finish of this campaign, and next year in 2014, there will be additional content and features added to the game, taking it to the BETA level. Supporters of LIFE IS FEUDAL can gain early exclusive access to playable code by pledging to some of our perk options outlined on the right side of this page. Developing a MMORPG is an everlasting process and never truly ends. But we strive to make as much content and as many features available as quickly as possible, especially because feedback and support is important. Payment model is planned to be a B2P. Players will be able to download and enter game for free and will appear on a newbie island. While suffering different limitations, they will be able to test all of game mechanics and most of it features. And if they feel confident enough to leave safe newbie island and dive into the real medieval life on the main Continent, they will have to pay only once.

-------------------------------------------

I must simply say the game looks absolutely amazing, and following the footsteps of all previous indie russian developed titles I've played: AMBITIOUS. It is for the lack of better terms, Warband and WURM had a child. I am eager to see some seige warfare and the pitched battles being instanced sounds epic. Looks like 150 euro for instant closed alpha access, I can say at the least they are most certainly getting 30$ from me. I really wish I was part of a large guild, and we all could pitch in for the 1000$ spot on the IndieGoGo for that Keep:

Haha looks interesting. It will need to develop a playerbase first though.

I don't think that that minecraft style of mining translates well to 3D. It looks kind of silly.

Yeah, the only game I've seen that combined minecraft-size cubes and detailed textures that actually looked good is Space Engineers, and I guess that's because the hard angles make better spaceship designs than terrain. Usually it's better to go with a more abstract style, or smooth the corners on the fly.

Video looks alright but I think Haven is where my dallying with turbonerd permadeath MMO-jobs begins and ends. Unless it has seasons and a sense of time passing, for some reason that would really grab me.

If I play another permadeath game I'd prefer it to be more roguelike in timescale, like DayZ, where a long-lived character is more of a rarity and losing it less of a blow. Can't be bothered with the possibility of grinding for 20 hours to lose everything on the whim of a buttnugget.

I don't know about you guys, but I really like the look of the combat. The way you can damage parts of someones body in different ways, Dwarf Fortress style, seems really neat. Not only that, but from what I saw of the combat, its looks a lot like Chivalry, and it looked very skill based than stat based, so players who learn quickly/have played longer will still be able to kill inexperienced players, but lower tier players will still stand a chance. Also, think of how epic faction battles will be when it gets a dedicated player base and things like mounts and different weapons are added.

Still looks like it needs a lot of polishing, but alpha is alpha.

One thing that keeps people playing haven is the quality system... fighting for resources and competing in the Q game...

I wonder what the motivation in this game will be to risk your character?

They mentioned making food in the video... but what is the point of food?

I would look at the website to check if there was any info but the website does not load for me.
