Can't see animals on map anymore nor the red ring

I've been playing this game for awhile now, and I've always been able to see animals on my map and on my screen (they would have a red ring around them) and for like two days now I haven't been able to see them anymore. Was there some update ? I have enders client
really dont want to get killed by a bear cuz i cant see it till its too late. hope someone can help!

It's working fine, are you sure you haven't turned highlights off? I've done it before by accident.

yea all my highlights are on. there isnt an option for animals on it tho (I'm not sure if there was before, but if there was its not there now)

Well it's still there on mine ...... Have you opened the extended menu?
