Can someone explain combat ?

Why is combat like Benny Hill in H&H ?
The mechanics are not very different then any other games combat, but in other games the 2 groups just face and fight.
Do you have an explanation ?
- perhaps is it that death hurts more in H&H, so peoples are more prone to run away ? but in any game you dont whant to lose
- perhaps is it because you cant hide in H&H (moded clients) so if you feel weaker you can only run ? but in no games you can hide in combat ( talking about bushs and trees, no stealth class )
- perhaps it's related to timers, you run waiting for skill up then stop and hit, but most other games have timers

Basically you run away until your 20 man backup comes. Then you kill em all in 21v2

THUNDAR.

And it seems there's a new combat system for hafen, but I'm expecting it to have a lot of the same problems.

Its basically because of the risks, its normally better to run away & stack the odds in your favour before committing (like DDDsDD999 said, THUNDAR is a move that lets you do this, but also backup can do the same), but if that happens, the other person will just run and do the same thing... So to kill someone you have to

(a) cut them off with overwhelming backup
(b) trap them in some other way
(c) trick them into thinking they have an advantage (this includes all the "hit them while moving" tricks that are not quite as OP this world... and better known as well, but also good old-fashioned combos) and then kill them before they realise.

(b) is hard to set up, (c) requires you to be smarter (on that day) than the other guy, whereas (a) requires the least risk and is way more deterministic, so thats what people do.

I think (b) and (c) are more fun though...

They could also just run poorly & click all over the place, but that doesn't count, since then they aren't executing the "run away" plan well...

1v1 is basically impossible. If one of participants wants to only run and he got some skill, 1v1 will basically last forever. (until chaser gets bored or backup comes)

When thinking about it, I may find other raisons :
In other games, if you meet enemis and run away, the foes just take there bow or fireball ou rifle and shot you in the back.
And you cant reply cause you are facing the oposit direction.
Valid point of view ?
Could this be changed by improving bow power ? Or making bow snare foes ? ( could be usefull in PVE to, kitting mobs )
Or make that you cant "cast" "debufs" to targets not in front of you, and require to be still for a short time to do it ?

if you see the enemy move toward you, run away in a really jerky uncoordinated motion to save your own korean farmer alt and forsake your teammates

if someone attacks you? Jump in a river and drown so they can't have your stuff. it's the best you are going to get.
