Steam Question

Postby Zawazuki » Sun Aug 23, 2015 4:44 am

Hello friends,

I was just curious if you ever planned to release this game on steam as an executable client? A game that is extremely similar to this game, called RPG MO, recently released on Steam and has since exploded. Someone in-game mentioned this title and it certainly looks appealing to me, but I would really enjoy if it were to come on steam. Are there any plans to do this?

Thanks!

As much as I like steam, HnH would be ten times worse community wise than it is now if it was on steam.

Not to mention way too many players.

Jorb and Loftar hate money, it's too much trouble for them all the accounting they would have to do with a Steam release.

Let me guess... the undisclosed sale value of Salem was $1, right? ¦]

I know, right? There are enough hardcore survivalist games out there that I don't think it would be as big an issue as it seems. They would know from when they ran Salem about that sort of thing, though the more publicly visible the game is, the larger number of complains they'd get (but would be more players, too).

To OP: There are several Java games on Steam. I don't know if any of them utilize Java Web Start, though. The ones I've played have their own launch platforms that download via Steam (which means maintaining code for Windows, Mac, and *nix), but can also be launched via JavaWS through the companies website.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

None of those games are comparable to HnH. In pretty much all of those games, you can regain everything you've lost in a few hours of grinding. In HnH, its MONTHS worth of grinding
