I think the heart of his posts is that he is Trying to make a Commune of people. not a village of players.

I hope it works for him. He is at least trying to do good here

This home is a harsh mistress, so probably not the best of places to learn the game. Look around in Dwarves & Thieves, there's some good lads looking for newbies to take under their wing.
