I read it, he makes a lot of good points. There's something wrong with the game's combat system when you have so many people who've been playing for 10+ years and yet still can't make heads or tails of it.

It's the same story basically every single time at some point you start to realise there's no point stressing about stats it doesn't matter. Real fights aren't spars nobody runs properly nobody defends properly etc.

1 world I'm out statted out geared I run through mine and bash mine supports on the head of sacred felix etc. Another world out statted outgeared run into bee dungeon and block entrance 1v3 felix for full kill. Out statted and geared w11 make secret alliance to bait and surprise enemy from behind 1 fight. Far from any safety. Last world the op stat and gear guys kept getting kod in fights because all it takes is 1 mistake doesn't matter who makes it. This is just random memorable examples off top of my head there are so many more where some1 got outplayed in boats or boxed in or spear KO etc.

1v1 might be quite stat checky but outside of that it's entirely skill based and stats are so meh. 1v1 is only a stat check when both fighters are not making any mistakes. Despite the combat system being so simplistic That's like less than 5% of haven pop who would click the buttons properly. Why u think snail run so many rage alt because low stat wont matter 95% of time

You know, you might have some good points too, but the only way you're going to prove it is by making some kind of combat guide. You're not changing any minds by telling people to click buttons properly without telling them what proper button clicking even means.

You don't even know what Cleave is and you say you're a veteran of the game, I also played legacy and made a roundpole fence base. Legacy was even worse PVP wise man why do you even bring it up at all. My friend had his character permanently killed while standing in our claim afk. Get good means learn the game, and im sure whoever killed you on here would fuck you up on any other game if your special move is killing yourself and crying on the forums.

If you need a guide to understand press right color button when color come up you may actually be retarded :|

carry waterskins and glass jugs or early on buckets, wear bunny slippers, get forager credo, use an actual client not fucking enders client like OP its not automating the game or whatever it's just respecting your own time, set an alarm sound for players you don't know, dont loiter in the deep water, theres many ways to not be shit outside of pressing buttons better and pressing buttons better is just killing animals until you can quick barrage > op knocks > cleave

So you are just going to ignore the fact that certain custom clients take care of the majority of all that button pressing and clicking for players automatically? Swapping equipment, auto aggro, presenting information in a way that essentially turns combat in to "ok now attack with this, now opp knock, now cleave", targeting, enemy identification, and so on.

If the combat is as simple and easy to work with as some players claim it is, why is a pvp-based custom client necessary at all in order to participate in it effectively? Or if participation is not the goal, then at the very least being effective enough to either escape or not get killed.

People mentioning autoaggro as a combat feature that provides an advantage is a pretty good tell they have no fucking idea what they're talking about

It's an advantage because someone who might have otherwise hearthed away in time could be prevented from doing so because of the automatic and near-instantaneous nature of the response time for a computer program compared to that of a human. Yes, the same logic applies to auto hearthing. That is also an automated advantage.

So if my reaction time is 5000 MS + whatever their reaction time is, it matters. If my reaction time is under 5 seconds it doesn't matter, and it never matters in an actual fight?

Anyway, people mentioning autoaggro as a combat feature that provides an advantage is a pretty good tell they have no fucking idea what they're talking about

dude is mad cuz no one posting in his shitty thread

Still didn't answer the question btw, as to why a custom client is necessary if the combat is so simple and easy to understand and utilize.
