By decree of The Grand Council of Xanadu,
In Name of The Hearth Eternal,
To whom it may concern,
Let it hereby be known, throughout the Hearth, that ascendant Xanadu, calling out from the mighty Abora, roof of the world, proclaims The Peace of Herule throughout all lands in the eastern supergrid. Any Hearthling, or groups of such, who wish to secure for themselves the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of stuff, are free to claim whatever lands are still left unclaimed in the grid. All claims and persons in the grid are, effective immediately, under the complete and total protection of the Hounds of Xanadu. Xanadu calls on all the free Hearthlings of the eastern supergrid to sumbit maps of their Claims to the Scriptorium at Xanadu. In the event of a conflict between two or more parties in the eastern grid, Xanadu offers to mediate. Any disturber of the sacred peace of Herule will be met with swift justice. Anyone who wishes to report a disturbance of the Peace shall do so to the acting lawspeaker at Xanadu.
Xanadu bears no ill will towards existing villages in the grid, who shall remain in operation as functioning and independent political entities, under the protection of Xanadu.
In addenda, Xanadu also lodges a formal diplomatic complaint, with the Village of Chernobyl, regarding reports of repeated threats -- grave and serious threats to life, liberty and stuff -- against a cub of Xanadu's, warri. Xanadu advises the leaders of Chernobyl to:
- Refrain from a further escalation of hostilities directed at warri and, by implication, at Xanadu.
- Explain her reasons for violating the sanctity of her fellow Hearthling, and the tradition of peace.
Xanadu fears that any failure to comply with these requests, humble in nature, will force the hands and feet of Xanadu down a path they do not wish to tread. May Chernobyl yet be swayed by the better angels of her nature.
In Hearth's Light,
Jesse James, First Lawspeaker at Xanadu
