You have 1 straw and 1-3 seeds (depends of your nature/industry settings). Go to full nature and you will have always 3 seeds.
And try travel around, there may be many abandoned settlements with unharvested wheat. Boat is good for this.

go full nature, replant wheat, your 2 will be 6 next harvest, then 18, then 54, then 162, then 486. well over 600 total straw in 10 days.

1 Wheat @ full Nature yeilds 3 seeds.

after making a 243 tiles of wheat, you would have 364 wheat harvested... then you can plant the same amount and use the rest for other stuff... or go nuts and do... 729 wheat field. There you can make many stone mansions as long as you got the metal.
