Trading For Metal

Hello to you all, my friends and i have an up and coming village within about an hours boat ride from Brodgar. I'm hoping to be able to trade some goods for some metal, as we have still not found a mine.

What would we need to provide to be able to receive metal as a trade?

We have access to high quality soil, and fairly good clay, Soil @ 40+ and clay @ 20 - 30

can make bricks if needed,
