How much does leather go for?

you'll need probably 25-40 wroughts to make a full wall, and don't forget you need 5 steel as well for a gate.

60 leather - 1 steel

so to make a full wall via trading leather, you are looking at a minimum of a mind boggling 1200 pieces of leather!!! and that's assuming that sodom or whoever you trade with would buy that much leather, which is doubtful.

leather has some value, but not much. you're better off picking cavebulbs, making pepper, cheese, or finding pearls. or make 1200 leather if you prefer, these are just my suggestions

I went on a hunting spree yesterday night so I should have
alot of leather by sunday/monday. I am teaming with a friend, I hunt and give him the hides and we share the leather 50/50 so it wont be that much.
Ill PM you tomorrow or on sunday.

Anyone else interested in leather? I am looking for silk, any quality.

with all this hunting you are doing, if you have access to nople or some other trade center, you could:

A) turn some of those pelts into leather straps, then into ropes.

B) turn those bones into bone glue

C) tan hides into leather

then open a barter stand selling leather, bone glue and rope.

those 3 things are vital to making battering rams, coffers, large chests, palisades.

by selling that trifecta of items, you'd sell more and get more return out of your kill.


IF your survival skill is high AND marksmanship is decent AND you have a highQ cutting tool with which you are skinning with AND you are killing lvl X critters, you should be getting decent Q pelts. once dried you can cut those to leather straps and then turn those higher Q staps into slings. and sell the slings.

unless of course you farm hemp or flax and get higherQ plant fibres

Ill start up an alt to open a stand in nople, since my main lives in Sodom and I of course already have a claim already.
I am killing level 5-8 animals at the moment, my marksman is only a mere 45.

I'd buy it if it came with rope and bone glue to make Large Chests. You can never have enough.
