FEPs in Relation to Hunger

Postby Valnar » Wed Feb 16, 2011 7:13 am

First of all I want to say, that I like the FEP system for its uniqueness and like that there are so many different food types from so many different professions.

However I have to say I dislike how hunger works in the FEP system.

Right now I have a good amount of cupboards full of food that is hard for me to use because my character isn't hungry enough.

I have hand plowed to reduce hunger because it is the most effective way to reduce hunger and therefore obtain the FEP stats, however hand plowing for hunger is one of the most tedious and unfufiling things to do in the game.

The thing that sucks is that if I don't hand plow it takes that much longer for me to lose hunger through normal actions and that much longer for me to get stats up and have all of that food in storage just taking up space.

I have 2 different ideas that would help alleviate the need for hand plowing:

Idea 1: A new crafting recipe that requires a beautiful dream and any food.
The result from this recipe would be an item that have a percentage of the total FEP from the food but gives no hunger when eaten.
This would allow people to get their FEPs at a probably reduced rate of FEP per Item, but be able to use a lot more of their food.

Idea 2: Exercising, this action would drain both hunger which would allow people to eat more food without being too grindy if the drain on hunger is high enough.

Either of these ideas would likely reduce or eliminate the need to hand plow for hunger.

Feasts with multiple people also help a great deal.

Like others have mentioned, there's a whole feasting system with dozens of craftable Symbel items, there's Black Pepper as well.

Remember, the point of Hunger and Overstuffed is to prevent players just snarfing down a mountain of boiled eggs or whathaveyou to become an eagle-eyed sniper in a few hours. It's balance.

Yeah I see that, but it seems annoying that hand plowing literally just circumvents the whole overstuffed mechanic if people are willing to do a shitty grind.
