Mobile Fur Tent

Postby kilakan » Fri Feb 25, 2011 1:52 am

I've found that when going on long scouting expiditions, having to always either travel home when I need to leave, or simpy log off in the wilderness a bit of a pain. Since I could be sleeping while i was gone restoring travel weriness, so what I propose is a craftable item that takes sticks, maybe planks, and dried furs and creates a 2x2 item that can be used to build a small tent with bed, sort of like a ti-pi. Could come with the hunting skill, and would suffer q modifirs of the furs and wood used, maybe string too. That way you don't have to head home to sleep, or build a bad bough bed, simply set up the tent item you are carrying in your boat or cart and sleep under the stars.

Cool idea, and would be even more useful if winter climate is implemented.

and although i like the pic, the way they are traditionally built is by sowing animal hides together and nailing them to a wooden frame, so if they could look like that it would be cool, just like a few different colours of fur splashed around.

i would say it would req 20 branches 5 rope and 10 dried hide<though i suppose it would not stop the bug of rabbit hides counting as bigger hides>

this way it is easily ascessible by the experienced and noobs alike.

when right clicked it has the menu:
enter- obviously lets you into the yurt- which would be a small area- barly half the size of a a log cabin, or timber house<whichever is the small one>
probably just enough room to put a bed and fire

take down- dissasembles the yurt into a folded version that is liftable and, like a boat, it cannot be put in another liftable object like a boat.

this also brings to mind the idea that wagons<and if anything bigger is built> should have a special slot where a boat or yurt could go in.

to assemble the yurt simply lift it and drop it on the ground where you want to assemble it, right click it where you have the option -assemble- to do this you must have a clear space within the tiles it takes and a 2 tile radius around it<which restricts things going around it-though only in the building process>

and yea, it would be cool
EDIT: I FOUND A PIC > if it isnt working for you, its a pic of a proper kaka (swedish) or lavvu the western style yurt
