Destroying a boat = scent

Taking items from a leanto with person inside leaves theft scents.

That's why IMO destroying a boat with person inside should require vandalism and leave vandal scents.

I've always wondered if destroying a boat while some newbie fishes would leave any scents (murder).

I was never enough of a dick to try it though.

It doesn't, killed a theif in W3 by breaking his boat from under him. He drowned and didn't leave scents, sadly I didn't get the LP :(

Make it nearly impossible to break a boat while on another boat, since being in a sea-based vehicle operates on a entirely different type of physics.

Boats have a weight to them, and while it's possible to hack another "free floating" boat in the water, it's harder to maintain your balance while you do so.

So in the end:

Make players on boats, unable to destroy anything as efficiently, because their strength gets sapped greatly.

So you can't easily break boats on claims with vandalism, you can't hack at objects next to the water.

Heck, try fighting on a boat and you'll see why it's hard to do so.

It already is difficult. Even the slightest movement stops the destruction.

Not really, even if a player is afking on a boat, it shouldn't be easy to break it as the boat should basically soak the hit from the water itself.

The force you used to push or pull something on water, will result in the water reacting to it as well.

So if you hit the boat, the power will ripple through the boat and the water will soak it.

This is a game, not a physics simulator. The way things are right now, once someone is in a boat they are much, much more difficult to assault or interact with. This is a significant game imbalance that needs to be dealt with before other mechanics can or should be introduced (do we want horsemen to be essentially invincible?).
