You're a bit late out, buckets were nerfed a while ago.

It doesn't matter if it's buckets, dirt, baskets, logging..

..some repetitive task will ALWAYS get the most LP per hour and it will always be boring to do for hours on end.

Until they put in a bell curve for diminishing returns on LP, players will always be forced to choose, each hour, whether they want to spend the time enjoying the game or grinding for advancement.

Please please PLEASE put in an LP curve so that the most fun things to do don't inhibit advancement as much.

Don't let this turn into every other MMO.

Remove any grinding, see the other thread on ideas, changing recipes or reducing LP just moves the problem to another product, target the grinding, and the bots.

Grinding WILL always be, and SHOULD always be better than casual playing. That's why it's called grinding. There's nothing you can do that will make a regular human player better than or equal to a bot or even a really dedicated human player. It's impossible, and nothing you ever suggest will change that.

Fuck the casual players, let them farm or whatever.

I think the main point is that dedicated players should always be better than their bot counterparts. But that's a very hard thing to do.

Dedicated players should be better than casuals.

But dedicated playing should not be about grinding for hours and hours. It should be about knowledge and connections and strategy.

Do that, and dedicated players will also be better than the bots. Solving your very hard problem.

Any game with such severe penalties for death will never be ruined by casuals, anyway.

The only way to do this is hardcaps on all skills.

In this case 'improvement' will only be a matter of player skill, not stat numbers.

I hope this game never has hardcaps on anything..

Read this formula viewtopic.php?f=5&t=16274&start=20#p188458

By curving LP gain you deemphasize grinding. It still has an effect if you want to do it but it's no longer mandatory and no longer eclipses everything else you can improve in the game.
