I laughed when I read it takes a few days to get full change again

I can get it under two days and I'm casual just afk in a cellar behind a cupboard and spend a point when its ready...

oh noes someones gonna kill you!!?!?!

Who doesn't have a palisade

I'm very much against death being more pleasant I was pretty upset that you get to keep some of your points when you die

So you're telling me, I should spend 2 days AFKing, instead of actually playing, to recover from this? Would not the LP gain be greater if I played during that time I waited, even if I wasn't on full charge?
But, Why should I even have to AFK anywhere? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the game? (Which is to have fun, right?

Besides, I can't AFK all day and check occasionally to raise the point up, I work most of the day, most of the week. It would still take me about 3 days to raise it since I can only check at night and in the morning.

And BTW, NEWBIES don't have palisades, and neither do I. I was actually in the process of hunting so I could get enough leather to put up a palisade when my screen lagged out right when i was planning to lure a boar to the shore so I could kill it. When it finally fixed itself, my character was dead. Thanks so much for caring.

I hope you find your ideal game someday, where death makes you lose everything, like you said you want. And then I hope you find yourself constantly griefed by players who have been there longer then you, so you can never progress, or have a hardware/software failure which results in the death of your ubered out toon which could WTF PWN anyone and everyone you come across. I'm sure you'll absolutely love it.

I don't mind death having consequences.
In fact, I'm all for death having meaningful and logical consequences in terms of gameplay.
What I'm against is making death annoyingly painful, simply for the purpose of making it painfully annoying. There is no meaning to that, except to pander to Perma-death fanatics. IMO, Perma-death is only good for arcade games, not RPGs, unless implemented very skillfully, and H&H's death is the most skillfully implemented death mechanic I've ever seen. (But not perfect, IMO)

This is the fourth time I've died playing this game, and the Only time I died due to client issues, I've even had my claim ravaged to the ground, but I haven't complained once about those things. I don't mind starting over, what I mind, is being interrupted due to influences unrelated to the game itself, and the pointless time grind it takes to recover.

I'm done reading all your "witty" comments. If you can't take the time to read past the first sentence and actually respond to the arguments I put up to support my opinion, please, just don't post. Thanks.

if they removed the forced wait to get to full trad/full change it would break the game because people would be able to pop back up almost instantly at either full numen gaining ability or full learning ability. when i kill someone i want it to be a while before they can become a nuisance again.

That's a valid reason for it to stay.

However, I consider that to be a problem with the "limitless" skill-up system, easy ability to macro/grind, and the huge gap dividing those with access to metal and those without, not the death mechanics. The wait hinders newbies and experienced players the same, however, for a player who doesn't have tons of stats and skills to begin with, it's a dramatic obstacle. But those who have already amassed enough stats and items that dieing doesn't prevent them from utilizing basic functions such as hunting and basic combat, or those who utilize macro software to grind LP, it's only a slight setback.

As Saetia stated above, if a player is serious about it, they can have full Charge in under 2 days. And if LP gain isn't impeded by lacking basic skills, I'm sure they'll be back to doing whatever it was you murdered them for in the first place, in very little time at all. While it pushes a newer player back even further, and limits their fun.

I'd suggest tying it to LP earnings rather than time, but that'd just make the game grindier with the current LP acquisition methods :(

Dont fix what is not broke i say.

Looking at the other side...The way things are now a person who was at full tradition will get to save a lot at death but the new character will be at risk of losing more at death untill they get back to full traddition. You really need to look at both sides and live by your choices/beliefs.

Now that this is not the case any more.. IMO it should be tied to base LP earnings.

A "logged in time" grind makes no sense.
