I'm not saying that this idea has anything resembling a priority, but ever since I saw the "leather ball" curio, it's been running through my head. So, here it is.
Dropping the leather ball puts an item with a hitbox on the ground. Rlicking the leather ball will pick it up. Lclicking the leather ball will, once the character touches the hitbox, send the ball moving away from the character.
The distance the ball "flees" from the character could be determined by strength...possible squares equal to the square root of strength.
The direction of the ball's movement would be determined by agility...anywhere in a 270 degree arc for agi 10 or less, down to less than 10 degrees for agility over 100. Or something. I assume that coding akin to fleeing animals could be used to handle the ball's movement and ricochets.
