i know this from a few games, might work here too. im curious how the feedback is

in some games, devs safe all progress in the end of the last day of march. its backup
then, on april 1st everyone is allowed to jack around without major consequences because
beginning of march 2nd the server is set back to the march-backup

this would give us a nice feeling of endworld with out having a wipe really. remember gold old times in the end of w3, partying in nople
