This distinctly reminds of using 'Appraise' on someone in Ultima Online. Your ability in appraise determined how accurate a description you got. It was very silly to 'Appraise' an Ogre with low appraise and be told it was a very weak but brilliant creature.

So I will be able to write anything including bullshit (poetic or not) in my char sheet?

it was rather meant to be set by game, not by yourself

Would black skills be indicated by having them, frequency of using them, or what? IE would someone have fingers with bone glue on them, if he has theft, or if he's committed it recently?

In this case Jorb has experience with lore text (I read somewhere he has worked on Vicky 2), but anyway those "poetic sentences" will be translated to numbers with time.

I like this. Perhaps descriptions should be relative to the state of the person doing the observing, in addition to relying on perception.

Wow, this idea is soo much better than mine. I like it. Its also amoral which should please most people who like that aspect of this game.

I like the examples you came up with as well.

Thumbs Up :D

Being able to see if the person has any active scents might also be usefull, perhapse as a second skill. It would be a relativly expensive Skill, higher then Ranging even. The target would have to agree to the scan, like being kinned and the result is a simple "Trespassor/Theif/Assailant/Vandal/Batterer/Murderer" message.

Linking this ability with Charima in some way could also be interesting. Perhapse Charisma * Stealth of the target is used to block the scan and Perception * Charisma of the scaner is the offensive value, if the targets value is higher they appear non-criminal. Of course once the scents expire a person will always get a clean bill, their would be no false positives. Charisma is used because its like a Bluff check.

Lawspeakers and high level rangers could go about Interogating people at Random, no one would expect them ;)
