"fat guys?"

Anyway, I like this a lot. It would give a lot of flavor to the game, and allow somebody to be at least somewhat more aware of other people, without giving everything away.

I, too, think that it should be measured Charisma*Stealth against Charisma*Perception.

You think Psyche should go in there somewhere? Just one's ability to "control themselves" and exude calmness?

Perhaps a new alignment would be in order: Humility/Bravado
Someone with high charisma and stealth would project a weak figure if they selected humility, and would project a strong figure if they selected bravado.

Interesting. However, you might explain to us more aspects of this new Personal Beliefs slider. Explain when/why one would want to look weak, and when one like to look strong; the answer might be obvious, yes, but it's still nice to get it typed up. Especially since you had proposed it and probably have some idea of the facets of the slider.

You guys aren't suggesting the implementation of NWN challenge ratings, are you?

You shouldn't be able to detect whether a player is weaker or stronger than you.

Why? IRL you can see someone you wont like to stand against to. Also there are exceptions but that brings high stealth and low per on the other side.
+1 to the idea

because it kills bluffing, among other things

take it from someone familiar with them, player ratings are a detriment to permadeath pvp games

Dunno, i was thinking more like, you WERE able to tell if someone was good at something, or had done a lot of something, but there would also be mechanics to hide things, gear for bodily stuff like scars, and maybe stealth or charisma for hiding skills, maybe you could even pretend to be good at, say swordsmanship without being good at it by having high stealth/int and the right skill

maybe there could be a skill for pretending stuff...
Before you take insult to this post, keep in mind that I am simply a warrior of truth.
