Seems easy to abuse, but there's not really anything worth praying for anyway.

This seems far too abusable to rank up thousands and thousands of numen with an early character by only discovering, say, mulberry leaves and having someone prepare an Ancestral Shrine for you to build.

Edit: Then again, this would be retarded as you wouldn't have a decent ancestor to get anything from.

how would you abuse it? any reasonably high level character will have discovered plenty. and just because there isn't really much worth praying for now doesn't mean that it will always be the case.

hmm, limit numen to total number of items unlocked, maybe? or some other way?

A limit potentially could work. It's unlikely to be an issue but someone could feed an alt up and never have them get any discoveries early on. Get them to a decent skill, say ~200 in smithing and strength. It would only take a month or two. Then kill them. Then have their descendants discover a mulberry leaf and mass produce cheap as free q200 metal bars.

A scenario like that would be catastrophic.

If offeringQuality < currentNumen, then:
halve currentNumen
else:
increase currentNumen
end if

That alone should stop you from getting q200 bars with mulberry leaves, unless you've managed to get a q200 mulberry tree planted. (Also it's currently implemented isn't it?)

The other solution would be to have a base pool of offerable items (everything you can get without many skills, so frogs/rats/boughs/treeseeds/barks/etc), and as you discover things, add them to the list of offerable items.

that would make it much easier to get numens and i would like it.

im so stupid, sorry, i edited out the above... yeah, forgot about "inherit discoveries" part....


however, i also like seeing new icons popping up in that screen to start a quest for the new item i havent seen. though im sure there are no more new items to see there for veteran players and may find it boring. just a view from rather a new-ish(or noob) player. ive got a mixed feeling on this.
(well, truth to be told, id forheit mostly, but its still an opportunity to get to know new items by this when you are still new to the game. you dont usually check all items listed in wiki.)
