Planting another terrain

Postby Eddie110 » Wed Apr 06, 2011 4:26 pm

Hello guys.
I plant grass in my place and I realize, that I can plant only grass and another terrain I can't create. It's a pity, that some of terrain is not so specific so I think it's a purpose why we can plant only grass (because moor, heath and grassland generate chickens, aurorchs, muflons, etc and their purpose is same).

I'd like to create for example mountains, mudflats, thicket (to slow enemies), etc. It's obvious that it will need appropriate materials or skills and on the other hand it must be replaceble - for example, if someone want to be bad and transform all moor terrain to thicket, We must be able to put it back and transform thicket to moor back.

I give you a sample of my thoughts:
I want to plant some moor terrain in my place, so I must travel and find moor and dig some samples of this terrain. Go back to my place and research it (!!!) or put into herbalist table/drying frame and receive seed(clay - mudflats, rock - mountain, root - thicket, etc) of terrain and plant it. Amount of these seeds depend on Nature/Industry belief and quality on survival skill. So if you want create mountain near your village and gather high quality stones, you just go to mountains, dig some samples, go back, cultivate it and plant it, easy (maybe :D)

It is my Idea of creating various terrain and avoid to going into far far away terrain to gather some materials (and be killed by russians :D).

well there's a thing such as landscape gardening or whatever you call it.
it would allow you to create cooler homes, if thats your thing, though it would also be kinda silly.

Plowed grass decays to moor. Plowed moor decays to heath. And it's fukken ridiculous to PLANT TERRAINS.

You can already terraform to "mudflat" by plowing and then stomping to dirt.

mudflat and stomped dirt are not the same, stomped dirt decays.

Decays into what? I've yet to notice anything, but I'll take your word for it.

Trees 'cause the terran around them to become native. This is why if you clear cut the land becomes grasslands because it doesn't have a tree to make it anything else. It would be nice to be able to plant a herb (like a tree) and have it do the same for Purple, Yellow, Swamps and Thickets. Mountians would be stupid They are there to show you where minerals are.
