This lack of understanding how the mechanics work and encourage diversity are basically rendering your argument useless. Of course there is some balancing to be done, but my curiosities change quite a bit depending on what playing time I have available.
I didn't take a longer break yet, but when I take this into consideration too and also raising alts, then I am using a very wide spectrum of curiosities. Curios that are easy to craft like rattle-tattle of course should be next to useless or it would get too easy. They are kind of a desperation filler. The high tier curiosities you always want to have are very rare to come by. So this is balancing with the fact that they are just too good not to be used (exception being glimmermoss, which everyone seems to have cupboards full of).

And as burg stated, cone cows are the beast, your suppost to use the ones that take longer and give more LP while your logged off. The lower level ones are meant for the newbs, and some of them are pretty decent. The ammount of curios is so there isnt for example 3 curios, 2 of them suck, and people only use the other one.

Cone cows are neat, but don`t you have to log in every 20 minutes to get any use out of them? Somewhat grindy in my opinion.
And, again, I just can`t get it why some curios are so horrible.

This. There's always an OP class in class based games.
Always an OP gun in shooters.
Always an OP worker at your job.

It's part of the experience.

TF2 is nicely balanced. HL2 weapons are nicely balanced. Both games are well-played. Are you sure that something HAS to be shitty?

See that is exactly my point. You don't use cone cows when you are not logged in. You use them when you play and can constantly change them, same for ant soldiers. The equivalent of them for a longer offline time are probably aurochs hair.

I use the bad curios on my alts, my claim alt has used many cat golds and seashells, and wishbones

Not all curios are equally attainable. It's a lot easier to get a cone cow than a pearl, why should they be the same in LP/hour or LP/attention or LP/hour/attention?

They way they are now is actually much more equal than I was expecting them to be..

actually no I like the way it is. As it is each curiosity is unique and has a different purpose, there is no need to make them all the same simply because you cannot use the same curiosity twice which means eventually you will still want to use the "useless" curiosities because you are already using the good ones.

If anything they should make it so higher int also increases the size of your study. Like at 50 int you get another row and at 100 you get another one, that way you can use more different types of curiosities.

OK for uniqueness of curios, but still those require some rebalancing, don`t they?

So its more a feeling that you have instead of some result of some factual data compare. (General-Availability & Duration & Base-Points)

There a new feature so there probably is some room for improvident. But than again, why would they all need to have the same overall usefulness.

The curio system works fine, in my opinion. Cone cows are good lp for noobs, but it's ridiculously hard to get high-quality cone cows. A lot of the harder curios are easier to get high quality on, so they have less BASE lp. Factoring in the quality system was a good move on Jorb and Loftar's part, and they did a damn good job in balancing the curios as best as possible.

That aside, I like the idea of getting bonus lp for having, say, all the ant curios in the study interface at the same time. Would really encourage strategic lp gain.
