Feminine Fashion

Postby Girlinhat » Mon Apr 11, 2011 6:02 pm

I know I'm not the only girl that plays, and I know I'm not the only one tired of running around in a bear cape and armor. Some dresses (see, necromancer's cloak in different colors) or a skirt or something would be nice. Sandals too! It's just that, I know this is a game of survival and being in the wild, but once you've got a village up and some resources, you can splurge on a few fancy clothes.

Also, I suppose, tuxedos for the guys, gotta be fair...

try some of the other robes like merchant's robe (it's pink! soooo gorgeous), lawspeaker's robe (white, but you must be lawspeaker of the village), hide cloak (tan), toga (white, useless). try the ranger's boots for some killer footwear. and what's wrong with the necro? a little black dress is a must for every girl's wardrobe.

really though, more items and/or some cosmetic alternates of the existing items would be great.

I like the toga, but it looks lame with any footwear. Gonna try and get some ranger's boots, but those are in high demand for my village. A merchant's robe would obviously rock, but that's a lot of silk!

Either way, there's some options, but pretty much everything available is more function that fashion. Which is fine and all, but it gets boring fast. All you ever see is "another guy in leather pants and bear cape" and that gets old. "We were broken into, the thief stole everything! I got a description though, he was in a bear cape and leather armor!"

Just ask an artist to make a mod for you, jeez.

this has been suggested before and of course more clothing would be nice, but its not a very high priority issue

also they still need to update some of the older crafts, not a fan of the statless clothing

Couldn't agree more, things like the toga and leather cloak aren't used anymore when you get necro cloaks and/or merch robes, simply no use in them.

Fair enough, there are bigger issues here, but I'm assuming that adding new crafts would be as easy as plugging in a few numbers, unless they've hard-coded every craft, in which case that's a bit more of a pain... Usually once there's a system in place for quickly adding and modding items and reactions, then adding new ones can be done in a few minutes.

Getting a mod would only be halfway helpful, as only I would see it. Part of fashion means that I want to show off for others! A good idea, but I'm not a hermit :P

..Why do you think you share a mod between your villagers?

Also, "plugging in a few numbers" will hardly do it. As for the art, leather cloak, for example, has around 600 sprites.

at one point i wanted to change hide cloak so it wasnt so ugly, maybe turn it into a tunic

but not really worth the effort when statless, no one will wear it :|
