yes but sometimes alt claims arnt convienient or possible at the time, i like this idea, as long as it remains non summonable

another way of doing it is placeing the pseudo-claim on the actual item itself :mrgreen:

what if the "pseudo-claim" idea was framed more like a "keeping an eye on it" function?

You could "watch" or "keep an eye on" a boat or wagon or whatever for as long as you were logged in, not AFK, and within some reasonable distance. Then, if someone took it there could be a theft scent associated with it. Otherwise, finder's keeper's. Would that solve your problem?

Invisible claim yielding scents = bad, no matter wether they can be summoned or not.

Making a visible claim that takes scents but does not require black skills is another debate.
