What are these "gods" you speak of?

And, yes. Goats would be excellent for sacrifice. Plus, goat skulls as headgear.

Everybody wins! Except for the goat, of course, but nobody gave a shit about him.

I like the idea of having your buddy off (kill) you so you can get some fun visual do dad like a pointless cloak. I would prefer it to be something that didn't take an equipment slot (even if the slot is mostly useless).

Also I think that the worship of gods is not outside of the game, obviously I don't think that the gods should give you blessings directly but more of another more complicated personal beliefs system.

Seeing you quote your own sig made my day teck XD

Also, the ability to raid study inventory seems a decent enough reward to me. Nothing like the LP from murdering in past worlds I don't think, but I'd assume you can get some nice stuff from killing an established player.

Vikings did have human sacrifice, so it does belong in the setting.

It should be a way of bringing back LP gain for killing. I don't think its exploitable, as long as it stays at only 1%-4% lp gain.

The game doesn't have a Norse background, sir; it's Germano-Slavic. Believe it or not, they're different.

... So? You really think that means they're the same thing? Germano-Slavic isn't referring to the area, as much as it's referring to the culture. You realize two cultures can share the same area, right? Not well, but... They can be in the same general region.

oh yeah, of course, i was merely saying, that when you wikipedia ancient germania, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Ge ... ure_portal

look at the map, germania is basically a culture, divided into regions, which only differ slightly, exmaple the easern germans <prussia, silesia etc> are the goths, then the scandanavians are commonly known as visi goths.

so they are the same culture, in different reigons, they only differ in the small ways

I would like to see a big sacrifice system in H&H a system where you can make many different alters.

An alter for those of us who are of the earth you know farmers and weavers where we can place items for the gods and hope for a gift in return.
Farmer places harvested crops on the alter and the quality is taken into consideration and after so long they disappear and there is a chance of a seed (just one) appearing of a higher quality than the items offered.

A weaver could give linen cloths and receive cloth back.

Hunters could give animals they have killed or the bones and have a chance to receive bow quivers or arrows and the like.

You get the idea by now so to the human/animal sacrifices you could have a different alter for this and it must be preformed by the law speaker with a sacrificial knife.

If you sacrifice a hearfling of high farming level it could allow a tiled area that has been marked to be blessed gain soil quality and place a cap on how far the quality can be raised in total and area blessed is determined by the farming skill of the poor guy that gets his heart cut out. Now I think about it the heart could be used to raise the soil quality.

Sacrificing players of high ua and battle stats I am not so sure what they could give that is not overly abusable?

Sacrificing animals could be used to give a bonus to the authority gain of the village.

Last though all sacrifices should only be done by villages but you should as a hermit be able to offer items on alters.

But who taught us of the gods I hear you cry well that is where a new kind of skill comes in who wants to see shamans who can buff us and build our alters of the gods maybe even cut out a few hearts for us heal us but all these things cost a lot of numen like points to do and to gain them you have to give tons of items up. Shamans wont be any use in battle if you are in combat chants will do nothing for you.
I fully look forward to jorb and loftar fixing several mechanics and bringing back updates, because at that time you chuckleheads are going to be more marginalized than lawn furniture in winter.
