Well let's be honest; what you're proposing entails that your main goal is for a ranger bow to become the beast it used to be, which is why the nerf happened in the first place.

I am perfectly content with a medium between the two "overpowered" and "underpowered" aspects but damage changes in any form, either through base damage or changing how something penetrates armour, is at best a tedious process that requires testing and I just don't see something like that happening this world.

I am by no means negating your idea and brushing it off without further thought, but between the new LP system already implemented and the dev's time taken up with Salem or whatever they have been doing lately it seems unlikely that such a change would occur at this time.

Mk?...

now then, if anyone has any ideas for how to make ranger bows not useless but not OP other than a formula involving your strength and the quality of the bow or even the silk used, or any suggestions to make that idea not so retarded.... please speak your mind, i'd not mind testing out the ranged systems personally....

ranger bow...

If it only ignored deflection, but was still effected by absorption, it would make the otherwise less useful absorption stat more important and still keep ranger's bows from being one shit kills on people with decent stats.

but steel plates are mostly deflect, that would make them less favored than a bronze plate or cutthroat cuirass =\

Back when ranger bow nerf was discussed, I proposed reducing base damage but giving both bows ua-like armour penetration, ie a certain percentage of the damage ignores armour. I still think this is the way to go.

In hindsight I have to admit that I don't think anymore rangers bows needed to be nerfed at all.
