Immediate LP has a ton of abusable side effects though. Immediate authority for declaiming comes to mind.

Hmm that's true. They'd have to mess around with the authority thing.

It just seems like there's no coherence in LP gain with the current system. You cram 13-odd things in your brain, and when you wake up most of them have expired in a gibberish row of +####s with no connection between what you chose and what you got.

I think I've gotten more LP this world than any of the past ones. I gotta admit this system is better, even though I was strongly against it at first, I like the LP gift when I wake up.

What do you mean "no connection" between what you chose and what you got? What you chose directly decides how much LP you get. How much more of a connection can you get? Changing it so that you get the LP for each item immediately and then you're stuck with that item forever doesn't make that any different.

This thread is about changing the mentory window to function like the inventory window so that you don't accidentally lose progress on a longterm curiosity. A change that should be simple and effortless to implement, not completely change the way that the study/LP system functions.

The mentory works like any other container. You don't have to drag and drop items into it, you can shift-click them, too. (Haven't tried the scroll method yet.) It would definitely keep you from accidentally picking up something else when putting a curio in.

edit: I do like the idea of a lock, though. It could be coded client side without messing with the server, or could be done server side so client errors don't mess it up.

this
loftar: New hair styles? Really? Seeing how Jorb never gets off his lazy ass to draw some, I almost want to add them to the game proper.

It would best if something wasn't considered out of the mental container until it was in another one this would also prevent the odd chance of your inventory having 2 1x1 squares instead of a 1x2 square you need for this other curio.

I use a magic mouse, so errant scrolls are common. Would still be extremely simple to change it like the inventory system, and would actually make more sense than it just being a "container" which it is now.

Yes this works however if you are placing curios that are not 1x1, you may wish to place them in a certain way. For example you are placing a bramble, a Volva's wand, a Thorny Thistle and filling the rest with 1x1, you may have to play with the inventory unless you dumped in all the ones that are larger first.
