The Common toad "secretes a toxic, foul tasting substance called bufagin", and apparently it can be lethal.

Also this toad is even more deadly: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bufo_arenarum , it secretes this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arenobufagin

Just sayin' ;)

I'd rather use something rarer, toadstools
aren't really all that rare though atm...

Giving newbies deadly poisoned food in UO was fun. I do want it here.

Also, since eating certain mushrooms gives you black fep, poisons can convert food feps to black in addition to direct damage.
P.S. Possibly even adding "Anything Poisonous" generic item for that recipe, which includes toads and certain mushrooms?

Licking certain toads (perhaps only shocked frogs) should give a drug effect too.

Obligatory herpaderpa realism. Bufo alvarius and certian other species of toads excrete DMT and 5-meo-dmt when stimulated. Some toads have also been known to excrete Bufotenine. (had to google the second one). Anyways these toads are very hardy, the will live just about anywhere. However the drug affects when ingested orally are negligible. And i don't think they fit in with the region.

But, i'm all for perpetuating urban myths. I say +1

I can't believe how devious you guys are, wanting to give poisoned food to newbies.

Then again, i'd do the same.

Anyhow, i love the idea, but think this recipe would make poison a little too common.

I'd preferr if it also required some other poisonous ingredients, such as toadstools. maybe 2 toadstools and 5 toads?

Anyhow, really like the idea, hope it makes it into the game!
