Because you know it's true.

I lol'd reading TeckXKnight's post as well :P is true (especially with common alt usage)- and some obvious points I spaced on ^^.

Suppose if high level death was so frequent as to warrant something like this, there wouldn't be many hardcore players left-

/still laughing at mental picture of an afterlife full of noobs.. leaving long sad stories on saving up for swimming.

anyhow, was just a fun idea we were kicking around, posted here so the pros like teck can tear apart our dreams :P After some input I've revised it a bit, to make it (slightly) less unrealistic.

Valhalla= you would need to meet a total LP or skill level to qualify (to eliminate the mass amount of early deaths clogging up the place)- it could be very restrictive, like say you need 2-10 million total LP just to qualify, that way it could be kept small. And while Teck makes best point on how rarely high level players die, they still do die sometimes :/ - so this way would be sort of like a hall of fame club.

Hel= I just like the idea of being able to send someone (say a griefer) to Hel ^^ if they wanted to reincarnate they would have to log a certain amount of game hours there(getting repeatedly murdered or fried no doubt). You would only qualify for Hel if you had a bunch of nasty scents existing in the world, and also met the total LP requirement.

Probably still not a practical idea, so I'll leave it at that and get back to my silk

Cheers!

I like the ideas of the places, but I dislike everything else

I just realized this morning - If there was some kind of afterlife High level players might not Hide/be afraid of death so much.

Vikings aren't known for hiding behind walls or shying away from fights - They thought they would go to Valhalla if they were worthy and died in combat.

Maybe a fun (or somewhat rewarding) afterlife could replicate this attitude?

Thats true, but this idea will just keep getting scoffed at by the higher-tier pussies that are also anti-key-system people.

I love the idea of having a Valhalla type afterlife for those that died in battle. It would be an interesting mechanic, wouldn't be particularly damaging to anything (as long as you make sure that the afterlife is completely insulated from the "real" world), and I think it would cut down on useless griefing and QQ'ing because while death will still essentially destroy your character it won't destroy your ability for enjoyment.
