Suitable lost.
I'd get scents for more people to raid, to then hide back in my vault more.

With current LP system alts are disposable as all hell either way. About 12 days to get an alt with all the necessities.

You'd get scents for throwaway combat alts. And you'd be losing lots of goods. One good hit can pay off for the combat alt.

We'd be attacking combat alts with combat alts, everyone would be alts. Nothing would have purpose.
I'd never end up risking my main though.

All in all I'm a strong believer in the 'make your village a vault' tactic. There will be faults with all other ways of playing, but not this one.

It's bad that people would not be able to feel safe travellng
But I think the game will evolve like the real world
You should remove teleportation as that would open new combats
EG. This is how I think it would start

STAGE 1
A player travelling along happily trying to make good time to where he wants to go
A single player raids taking/losing everything

STAGE 2
A player travels slowly watching for attacks and prepared to fight
The raider gets killed with no element of surprise

STAGE 3
A player ......
A group raids

STAGE 4
A convoy (protected by armed players)....
Group raids
Massive war

STAGE 5
raiding stops for a while
then goes back to stage 3
I think it would make the game more interesting

or ... maybe limit teleportations only for those who left scents and those who carry "hot" items.
then players with no scents would have no problems traveling, but hiding in vaults would be a lot harder for criminals and others have better chances to intercept them.

Any speculating of current 'no warp' stuff is pretty damn pointless as so much stuff would have to change, they'd make many changes with it, and unless some fast travel were implemented (pointless cause people will just argue about having kept instant teleportation or none at all)

Stuff is far too spread out and you can waste 30minutes getting to a resource spot IN your SG.

Would it be interesting? Sure.

Would it be fun as a day to day game mechanic or lack thereof? No, probably not.

Then what about HFs? Players easily griefed without HFs, palisaded in places, no option to warp to wilderness or HF to get out.
No village warping? Damn that's balls nasty, that right there removes the ability to even move and share things around a basic village easily.
No charterstones? Oh wow great, invalidate one of the most useful items in the game.

Overall I'm sorry but if you ask for NO teleportation you're playing the game wrong, teleportation is important in just about every aspect of every day gaming. Those of us who are already crazy safe will still be crazy safe, and you won't get to us, the ONLY difference is that we'd have to do a helluva lot more work now. Deforest far way forests and bring it home? NOPE, better replant nearby forests and claim them so you don't get stunted trees! Resource spots outside of your SG? Nope! Enjoy 2+ hours of travel to get there! Trade? Enjoy marketplace and road building tile by tile so people can actually travel somewhere to trade. Enjoy never safe marketplaces unless you endorse 'safe hours' where the gate is open to trade and actually having to have someone sit there to fucking guard the place with a key.

You will, fuck, everything. Stop suggesting this terrible thing, it's terrible.

well I would say it is unfair to noobs trying to get started if they have to walk everywhere when the stronger players just teleport
If you want to see a road netowork drop by my place there is a network for the top half of the grassland and to the water
I didnt build it but I know who did and I know it took months but with a couple of thousand players doing it it wouldnt take long to network the entire map aslong as you didnt do the place where no one lives

You think we didn't have to do it too? How about you set down your infrastructure properly and work towards a goal properly.

'I started late and now I'm behind' is no excuse, you can do it too you just choose not to then complain that others can.

The only way it would work for people to move to places publically for trading and such is if we would all agree that L1 is the 'movement plane' and people mine ways to main areas that way, such as marketplaces, still leaving 5 'living' planes.

Milestones are a joke, you can't use carts/wagons on them, drinking or doing other such things cancels them. They're very derp.

Taking away teleporting is one of those major changes that would need to be done with a world reset. While the people who don't like traveling generally want teleportation, I think removing it could force some very interesting and fun game play. People would of course have to be physically closer together to interact regularly, but that would also mean that being farther away from hostile people would again provide a certain amount of protection.

When I think of some of the new professions and activities that could come out of removing teleportation, I get excited because I think these could be really fun.
