Well Testing - Because fuck you, that's why

Alright we seriously need this, just needs to happen.

Purpose:Testing water Q, because fuck you you can do it in rivers.
Method: Rope+Bucket in inventory, same speed as in well, perhaps a chance to lose rope+bucket when attempting. If not make it slightly slower, or provide only half a bucket of water.


Feel free to post other methods, but this shit has to happen.

Did a quick 'search', don't know how there wasn't an actual thread for this already.

I agree. Though I think it should be done with divining rod like prospecting.

I also think you should be able to test the top quality of nodes with a similar function.

Maybe when u have dowsing rod and stand on the spot it will say "There appears to be Xq water below" :P

Disagree.

High q Water is something of a important item.
Building a well is not what I call a real big problem.
Rivers are easy to test and easy to find high water q spots, but there also unsecure as you can't wall them in. (plus and minus points)
Wells can be secured, but with the payoff that there slower in use, and need more work to find the high q water spots. (again, plus and minus points)

Seems to me river and well's as water resources are well balanced.

The plus of wells is that they are infinite of a single Q.

The problem is aas a newbie breaking wells is lolwtf hard, and testing them all around is just as insecure, leads raiders right to your ass.

Good like it is. Hard to find and valuable. No reason to make something this valuable easier to find.

i thought water bleeds around tiles, like if you find hq water in the river, around 20 or so, that you should try digging wells around on the land nearby. <-currently superstition, don't judge me ;)

i like how this guy went with the vinegar over honey method of arguement, classy. :D

What? No. I have a well on q~35 soil and it gives q10 water.
