Treacherous swamps

Postby Elden » Wed Jun 29, 2011 2:52 pm

I was browsing through the Row Boats Through Swamps thread and just came to an idea. a cruel one. Tbh, i'm not sure if it's worth implementing, but since ideas on this forum aren't likely to be implemented anyway, here it is to discuss. :)

In short - some swamps, probably with particular appearence, are treacherous. They have areas acting as normal swamp, shallow water and deep water(boatable like was suggested in linked thread), But... they all have the same appearence, and do not check for swimming turned on.

Sooo, you'd better know safe passages through the swamp or have lots of const. also its useful to know boatable passages(deep and shallow water-like tiles) to be able to go fast through it, hauling some chests in your boat, foraging mantles and toadstools.
That imo would liven up swamp wondering much. xD And if those swamps are vast enough and have isles, make a swamp-dwelling an exiting way to live.)))

PS: Everyone knows that swamps are dangerous. Hearthlings must not be an exeption.)
Tried a few shots on search and found none.

"Ender please implement treacherous swamp highlighting!!!"

(Every dangerous / exciting part of the game that's not PVP is ruined by custom clients)

they might be able to implement it serverside in such a way that it's indistinguishable to the client... if they could (and possibly also make it change from time to time) it would be great. of course they would also need to make it effect animals too which would mean swimming bears

Oh and you are? Go back to your corner and don't write if you have nothing more smarter to write than this.

Coming from the person that suggested instances in hnh
