They need to lower down the UA advantage so MC becomes more a viable option.

I srsly cant imagine oldern warfare where everyone runs around punching each other..... This isnt Street Boxing.

Between 1.25 on shield and .75 on on punch I think it just might be viable now.

maneuvers is only thing ua has going for it not including shield.
melee damage scales off of not only str but also ql and ql raising which is one of the biggest part of this game.
it needs no changes specifically with the current combat system.
If you can put 500 points in melee why wouldn't you be able to put 300 points into ua to protect yourself from ua only fighters?
However, the combat system altogether needs to be revised and redone (hopefully in a better way than current and previous system).
Maybe when that happens we can get more balance to all things including ranged.

IDK, I think the core of the current system (bars and stuff) is just fine, it just might need some tweaking. As for ranged, a simple and easy solution has been suggested a million times by now - reduce damage of ranged weapons so they don't spill over total armour, and give them a certain piercing percentage to compensate. Frankly, I have no clue why this hasn't been implemented yet. Especially since it would make cuirasses actually viable, IMO it's totally lame how we have some pieces of equipment that are utterly useless.

Loftar is lazy to add things, possibly.
To be honest, I'd get bored of developing something like this after a while as well; which is probably why it's still alpha/beta. :) (not sure what stage we're at at this point. Just know that when I started playing in world 2, it was alpha stage.)
And these pieces of equipment you have to have, are you referring to full armor?
Probably are, I'm just tired.

I'm referring to how cuirasses, ranger capes, bear capes and even knuckles will get you killed by an rbow.

Yesh, figured. Just never really had to deal with that too much. This world I was shot at by russkies but, it was early enough they probably only had q30-40 ranger bows and my POS q30 bronze was enough to stop it. And, all the fun stuff Sodom did in W3 I was either not home or asleep.

But seriously, I can't be the only one that thinks it's lame that there is a single best choice when it comes to armour. Picking equipment should be about trade-offs, and there can't be much of a trade-off when you have to put instant death on one side of the scales.

Was the weight of punch lowered or the actual damage? Because if it's the damage that was lowered then there's almost no difference.
