There are still better containers than a crate that don't need metal. HURRRR. If I hadn't camped right on top of a cave with a giant iron node, I'd still not have metal cause it's just not worth chasing just for chests.

If you have enough stock of any one thing and need to sell some of it, you can make a damn LC. Just tell buyer he/she needs to bring empty LC to replace yours.
As everyone else points out: metal. I'll agree crates are crap and should only be used by complete newbies. Anyone more than a week into the game should have leather and bone glue for at least a wooden chest. That's at least a 50 +24 inventory if the chests are loaded into a boat and carried to the trading village.

In general: As someone else pointed out in another thread, barter stands work great for small amounts of items for trading with locals.
What's all this got to do with C&I, though?
