why not 'buy' village lp with your own, you just walk up to the claim and select how much lp you want to put into it?

What good is this? Unless a village has spent Authority recently, most villages stay full up.

When you figure that in, won't this unbalance things by making it easier to do things like revoke claims or summon hirdsmen, etc.

Not that this is a good idea in the slightest but moSt half decent players log onto several hundred thousand lp every day (300 000 - 500 000) that would make getting to the max village level take a day if there was one person contributing. If any sort of village upgrading was implemented the first upgrade should be several million and the later upgrades being anywhere from 50-100million which Would only take a few weeks in a medium-large village

Again this still sounds like a bad idea in terms of village upgrades but your amounts seem to be unrealistic

Double check your Authority calculations there. The amount contributed is:

Authority = RoundedDown (LP * sqrt (INT * CHA) / 10)

Going by that, the character would need 100 INT and CHA to get an amount of Authority for the village equal to his or her LP. This isn't hard, but unlikely since most people don't grind CHA and only have what they get from random chance. (Mass produce Sunlit Stilton and Jorbonzola, a character could hit it in a couple weeks with little or no problem.)
