Players drop heads upon death for bounties

Postby Mallaboro » Sun Aug 07, 2011 6:51 pm

I'm still fairly new so I don't know if something like this already exists, but anyhow I think it'd be quite cool if players dropped their heads upon death in pvp so that players could assign bounties on player's heads, and use the head as proof of their murder/bounty being completed.

[*]There wouldn't be any legitimate trade scheme for performing bounties like instant payment - the player would liturally have to give you your reward. Players can build a repuation via this system.

[*]Perhaps player heads could be used to make theives think twice before trying to steal from a player.

[*]I also think players with less than a base amount of LP total shouldn't be able to be attacked, but thats a suggestion for another time.

Scents, and skeleton's if you have them memorized but no scents. Also what Skorm said.

Another case of trying to create a mechanic for something imagination lets us do already. Just memorize and hoist the skeleton over your head as a trophy. There you go. Problem solved. A bounty system just seems convoluted.

Now let me tend to my skeleton garden. People keep dying and polluting the forests with their skeletons, which they never keep up, thank you very much. Didn't Captain Planet teach you anything? Polluting is not the way, people!! Pick up after yourselves when you die. It'll make the dryads and wagons happy.

You seem to be missing the point, I'm talking about bounties and there being a use for skeletons (although I'm suggesting decapitated heads).

People already place bounties on folks here on the forums. Creating another item (severed heads) seems overkill. A general compromise idea to this idea would be that you can kin the skeleton straight-up by right clicking it (without needing other player's permission), or by using scents, you kin the skeleton to confirm the identity of the remains, because, ultimately, there's no real harm in knowing the name of the deceased. Personally, I'd go with the latter, for those that do feel there is something wrong being able to know the names of every corpse you find. That way you can only learn a dead hearthling's name only if you have scents.

Yeah...

Use scents to auto-kin corpses to confirm their identities. This way, if a victim knows the name of their attacker, they can confirm the skeleton's ID. Of course, I don't think many soldiers of fortune that go out and off dangerous elements for others simply off some random noob and drop off their skeleton as proof. I'm not saying there's ever been one or two, but most mercs are upstanding folks, so I still feel this, in the original severed head version, is wholly unnecessary. However, if there is enough support for this (I doubt), I'd pull for my compromise idea of kinning corpses.
