I see a lot of people talking about NPC's on this game, about how great they would be and also about how horrible they would be. Right now I am still thinking they would be a Bad idea, yet being able to have a village open to the public sounds nice, so have been rolling over some idea on how this could work.
Please tell me what you think would not work with this idea, more so looking for criticism then positive comments.
You can only have One guard pure village claim!
hiring a guard:
Copper or Tin 1000 coins
Iron, Bronze or Steel 100 coins
Gold or Silver 10 coins
(Depending on what coins you use you get a different guard!)
Level one guard: starts with 10 for every attribute, (or at least all one ones that matter) rage skill but not murder! gain's attributes at a faster rate but cap's at 100.
Level two guard: starts with 20 for every attribute, (the one ones that matter again) rage and murder skill's, gain's attributes at a normal rate and cap's at 200.
Level three guard: starts with 30 for every attribute, rage and murder skill's, gain's attributes at a slower rate but cap's at 300!
Requirements:
Guards have requirements that must be met before you can hirer them successfully, a place to live, food to eat (and gain attributes from), a guard post (mostly just a chair that he sits in when he is on duty) and last pay! (You never get anything for free!)
Level one requires a log cabin, level two a timber house and level three a mansion.
You will need to pay them to guard your land and depending on what you pay them and what level they are will change how log they guard for. when they are off duty they will not react if someone preforms criminal acts on your village claim but will still defend it's self if attacked.
Level one:
copper or tin coin 2 hours.
iron, bronze or steel coin 8 hours.
gold or silver coin 32 hours.
Level two:
copper or tin coin 1 hour.
iron, bronze or steel coin 4 hours.
gold or silver coin 16 hours.
Level three:
copper or tin coin 30 min.
iron, bronze or steel coin 2 hours.
gold or silver coin 8 hours.
when someone performs criminal acts on the claim will react in specific ways.
trespassing: they will come up and stand next to you as if to say, "better not take anything"
Assault: will engage you in combat but not attack.
theft: will engage you in combat but not attack unless you try to leave with the item. (also will take back the item)
Battery: will attack on site but not kill.
Vandal: will attack on site (may try to kill if you have done this a lot or before)
Murder: will attack and try to kill, even if it happened when he was off duty as long as scents are still there.
Armor & Weapons:
Not a requirement but something you should think about investing in, they start with the same equipment as any run of the mill noob, (torch and all) and can be outfitted with any armor or weapons that you choose.
I know I am missing something but think this is enough for now, So what is wrong with this idea?
