Writing on village banners and engraving on statues

Let's say you own a main village and a subcolony that does on their free will but is under your village claim and gives a portion of their things to you. You go outside and carve runestones outside both claims and your main claim says something like

"Ursa major main outpost
Rules for villagers - no stealing
Did our colony sell us goods stolen from you? Issue a complaint and we will investigate"

and

"Ursa minor colony under Ursa major
residents may do whatever they want but they must face the consequences when they happen"

but then a sneaky prankster could come along and replace the runestones with things like

"Ursa major - we kick everyones ass!
Have a problem with us? DEAL WITH IT BITCH!"

and

"Ursa minor bitches for Ursa major
We will steal your shit and laugh at you"

This could obviously cause some problems, even though what the stones were for isn't the point.
What if we could write down messages, that people couldn't mess with? Why not write them on village banners or engrave them into statues? They can say anything between what part of the village this is (IE Apple acre south side), information/fun facts about the village for passers by, or even things simple as "Property of CarrotMunchers village". You can also have the option of leaving it blank but only the LS or Chief of the village may write things on blank banners and statues to prevent unwanted things from being written. This could be very helpful towards me and many others who could use this for their village.

I used the search function and searched many various things and could not find anything like this, sorry if one already exist.

What do you guys think?

The core concept has been previously suggested. Currently we have runestones as the only method for publicly sharing information (and 3/4 of those are just bad jokes and dick references).
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Exactly, and that is the problem. By being able to pick them up and move them makes them an unreliable way of publicly sharing information, but note I do not want to get rid of them since not everyone will have a village and portable information is good in it's own ways too.

what do you do when the information becomes old or outdated? Can the LS update them at will, so then they can make a village to-do list or something?

I don't see why they couldn't change the information, guess I should have added it. Maybe they could write their message on parchments and post it on the banner/statue instead?

a blackboard type thing for villagers to leave messages to one another when offline would be more useful i think

currently u either discuss village issues with members u dont see all the time through this forum, pms, e-mails etc. when it would be more convenient to log on and find a list of what needs doing, messages to specific members, things to work on etc. and then people can add to it or delete stuff thats done etc.

That could work too (maybe with the village idol? but parchments in a crate could be the same thing in this case since obviously your village members won't sabotauge it) but these are more like information post for passers by and people in your village to read and are set by the top authority of the village.

i do like the idea. i think its offputting for many people walking by big villages, if people could personalise it with a message people could read to get a jist of what ure village is about thats a good thing imo.

i havent used parchment before, but i would assume its like a rune stone, once u write a message it cant be deleted, just destroyed. which would mean each time someone wnted to leave a message for ppl in village theyd need to create a new parchment for their message.

Again, these ideas have all been suggested, both public signposts (other than runestones) and private messaging systems (bulletin board) for a settlement.
