Moving locations is the only thing really. Soil quality is a natural resource, you cannot improve it's quality

Better soil quality isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, anyway, when it comes to crops. At this point, you could potentially trade for high quality seeds to start or improve your farm. Where it will matter is tree farming, which you can then trade for some of the soil you need.

That's not how hardness is determined. Hardness is a random quality node, just like any other node, which increases in difficulty closer towards its locus. If mining in a direction becomes more difficult it means you're getting closer to the locus on a hardness node.

The hardness of the rock/ore is completely irrelevant to if there's mine support. Hardness is relevant to the base hardness of that layer (just like there's base quality per layer), or a potential nearby hardness node, which makes it harder to mine than the base hardness.

Ok following questions:
At that time i got:
Smithing lvl 1
Strength 59
Ore Quality was 16

I maked a anvil with the Q16 Ore, then i maked a Smithys Hammer, the Hammer is Q12.
So why isnt it Q16? If it would be softcapped by Smithing the Quality would be lower, if its softcapped by Smithing+Strength the softcap would be higher.

It's the geometric mean of smithing and strength.

Geometric mean of a set of n numbers is defined as the nth root of a1 * a2 * ... * an
or in this case sqrt (str * smith) = 7.68....

Just bumping it up to 5 changes it to 17.175... or high enough to not softcap your metal.

How do you determine the QL of an anvil?

I'm waiting until I can get 5 bars of Q20 to make a new anvil, but my Smithy Hammer has gone missing so I can't make more. We have one bar each of Q21 and Q22, and I'm tempted to make it with those, but I don't know how it'll average.
