Tamable foxes please

I would like to be able to tame foxes, for the purposes of training a hunting dog

the idea being that it could provide a directional pointer for the nearest boar/mouflon/aurochen/deer, perhaps similar to prospecting, in regards to a limit on distance, based on the quality of the dog.

nice response martenx, but the only topics about taming foxes are from world 4 and cached and therefore obsolete, and nothing is more specific than "i want to tame more stuff",, so i felt a new topic was fine, with the extra info on a purpose for dogs. (and i know foxes should in this case really be wolves,, but we don't have wolves in-game - yet)
anyway the point was really that i want to be able to track animals, however that may be possible,, foxes are just one option

wouldn't being able to track animals the way you track people work better? maybe search for tracks on ground with hunting/ranging skill(used like prospecting possible item needed), and if you have good perceptionXexploration be able to possibly track different types of animals in the area. maybe with lower perceptionXexploration you can only track larger animals that leave larger tracks, or can only track animals much closer than if your stats were higher.

I do like the idea of being able to track animals since you can track people and objects, but hunting dogs is a bit too far...

It'd be interesting if say, you tamed a dog, (it'd make more sense as a dog) which you could give scents to so that they could track for you. Perhaps lowering the tracking timer or raising the number of times that you can track with the specific scent

yes i suppose it would be easier, especially if you are trying to transport a dog on watercourses, your idea of differing animals tracked according to perc/explore i like

i like the idea, maybe they could track in caves/mines too (does ranging fail at present in caves?)

if dogs are added I think they should be able to take the 2nd seat in a row boat instead of having to be rafted over rivers...honestly who has a dog and a boat and has never taken the dog on the boat?
