It's really not that hard to get leather once you've got your initial couple rabbit hides to make a sling.

Learning how to snipe sheep/cows from a boat nets you with an oversupply of hides as long as you can find a herd every once in a while.

Well, in W5 I was in a very secluded area with no cows or sheep but with an occasional herd of aurochs or mouflon. The only creatures I saw other than rabbits/chickens were foxes & boars. I saw more foxes than rabbits, but the boat idea sounds nice. My highest quality string i found was only 35, so not very high quality sling compared to the trade forums. :(

Edit: My sling quality was only 20 when W5 ended.

This is actually a very good idea.
And @ Grable. You can't build a claim near another claim.

Yes, you can. There's just a set distance required between claims. (5 Tiles) You can't build a claim overlapping another claim, which is different.

how about a tool(easilly makable) that you can use on walls that will demolish only 1 section and only if that section hasn't been extended?

example:
flint knife simple item made from stone used to cut the ropes on a palisade, could also be used for other tasks that require a 'sharp object' such as skinning

Doesn't really help if you're a hermit who wants to remove and expand his small palisade he initially built for protection, or destroy that timber house on the east side so he can expand his field.
