cmon, i mean i realize that before curio's, bots ruined the world, but bots in the new system have to be far more creative and unless the owner is abit of a sadist then they're generally harmless

it's like the southpark episode they do on WoW, anyone can become that nasty nasty example of a neckbeard and ruin other peoples small sections of happiness, but why should you have to do that to your life in order to be able to cause the same mayhem..... not helping my cause

think of my idea for bots, as npc's, host them somewhere that they wont ruin server traffic, and have them run a small amusing village, like back in ultima online
the maps already fairly secluded so no one runs into it unless they absolutely have to

I think someone already has this or is working on this. (At least thats what he said on the forums.) I remember reading it in the wizards tower section of the forums. If I recall the person said they don't play much anymore, but does enjoy running a couple of bots and trying to get them to live in relative harmony in a village together. Maybe someone can clarify more.

Edit: Grammar

He means NPC's run by the server to simulate villages, akin to the Minecraft NPC villages.

After saying that, no.

srry m8 but bots and games do not mix.

You're wrong. This is an alpha. Botting exploits are allowed to make the game better by pointing out flaws in the system (shit no one wants to do that goddamn much). If you can bot all this the OP describes (no, you really can't). Then the people who do it, do so because the content they desire is elsewhere in the game. What people don't bot highlights the content that is the selling point. Everything else is rehashed fluff content by hosts to lazy to actually RUN content inside their game like muds used to do back when the ability to create content didn't have the massive technical gap that bullshit brainwashing from games like FFVII drag out your addiction to contentless rote in order to convince you to pay for the same damn shit repeatedly by creating the illusion of new content because it's new to you rather than creating a unique experience between the players and the staff in an environment that computers are now capable hosting so much more than if exploitation of intellectual property laws (note: I am not condemning IP laws themselves only their abuse) hadn't stopped real interactive hosting of a game environment rather than making us shuffle into pack in order to fight yet-another-final-boss skipping the sotry we've all been through before (or getting mad at the noob who doesn't for interrupting our grind because he wants some RP with a fucking bot.

Rather, policing bots as a method to ward off the video game parasite entrepreneurs people who run major organization botting as a professional industry because other people pay for the digital goods, micros are only one facet that comes to fore to deal with this, in and of itself it is only establishing a free market where this exactly what has sold you on interacting with purely botted content.

@OP your fucking script must be highly advanced to realize and manage dynamic resources and environments of the procedurally generated world that is H&H. You write soemthing like that and people will pay you for it. See Above.

Chak, do you Really think people still treat this game as an Alpha test? it's a game. like you said(in a way) most of the vets are not here because of certain exploits and no new content. As a tester, you play the game to discover the glitches, breaks, and exploits in the game that is your "end game" I don't play as a tester in H&H and i'm bettin 90% of the players do not either.

So if you look at this game as an Alpha test, then the player population shouln't care about problems with the game, for they hope that the devs will fix/sort it out hopefully by beta or release.

now if you look at this as an indie game, then your playing this game for the enjoyment, but you do not expect it to be perfect. hell you don't expect it to be totally stable. and any problems you encounter you report it and hope the devs are expediant enough to fix it, if they don't you don't play until they do or you find another game.

with that said. botters in H&H are not bottin so they can report glitches, exploits etc etc(well i can't say all, so lets say 99%) they are bottin so they can achieve a "higher" level so to speak but not put the time/effort in order to achieve that level, in other words they are bottin to cheat. So if you have to cheat in order to get ahead in a video game. your a sad pathetic coward.

and as i stated previously; the new LP system wasn't it done to curtail botters?

An added bonus but it was meant to change the dynamic of the game. You do work and produce goods to do the work or produce those goods, not to earn lp. The problem now is that people expect lp for baking a pie rather than baking a pie to have a pie. Deforesting the world to produce buckets for lp was just flat retarded and bad for everyone except botters.

People dont bake a Pie for the pie in Hnh anymore, they go hunt for curios rather than bake a pie, nor farm for that matter, unless they are about to die of hunger lol.
