Not even bother going to look, but going to assume something to do with cannibalism. Plenty of games feature it. It's neither right nor wrong in the grand scheme of nature. Only when you put a "moral code" into life does it become wrong.

I'm honestly thinking we should have some kind of proxy or something implemented on the forums so that people who haven't been playing here at least a year or at least have more than 50 posts can't post in the Ideas section. Yeah..50 soul crushing, character building flame sessions ought to savvy up some of these noobs.

That's just posting restrictions. Who's to say someone new to the game won't have a good idea? Just because we have a bunch of Internet noobs around here doesn't mean people should be restricted. There are people around that have been playing for two years (or longer) and don't even have 50 posts because they aren't forum warriors or drama queens.

He's blathering on about shit that's been solved before. We don't need to get curiosities for dead hearthlings. The only thing you should get from killing someone is their own shit, which gives us little to no reason to farm alts.

No, seriously, an arbitrary post count prerequisite on the CnI section would stop most of these inane and unthoughtful posts from occurring. It's not hard to get even 25 posts and attempts to spam your way there will get you warned and banned as per the rules. Most threads in CnI aren't worth wading through due to the original poster having no clue about the game and no originality.

The worst posts are when they suggest things that are already in the game. I think when I saw people posting those suggestions recently was when I lost a lot of faith in new forumites having valuable suggestions for advancing the game.

A few precursory posts pretty much just says to everyone, 'hey I've been around for more than twenty minutes and I sort of get the game and the players so here's a suggestion.' It doesn't mean it won't be terrible but there's no automatic filter that can stop all terrible ideas while letting decent ones through.

What to do about failing to follow C&I rules

Postby MagicManICT » Wed Nov 23, 2011 6:37 am

Better idea than putting a post count restriction: Just move the thread to Hel and give the poster a 24 hr ban for failing to read the rules and follow them.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

If you are going to implement something that is harsh, it should be a warning instead. A straight out ban as oppose to a warning for intentional trolling/derailing would be disproportional. Aside that, people do have good intentional, just they are still too green.

You didn't even search, dumbass. The only "worthwhile" things you get from a dead ancestor are the things you already had, just to a lesser extent, the armor will be damaged, the skills will be lower, etc. Jorb said he didn't want people farming noob alts for cheap curiosities. That'd seriously ruin the balance of the game.

Do you research and listen to the people here with experience.

who are you calling dumbass? YOU readed my post but didnt understood it! i said nothing about any corpse, and i was talking about the worthwhile things u get from your own character corpse, (i know they were alerady yours). i was talking about bury your own Antecesor corspe. in the same order you can get benefits from your ancestor by the ancestral shrine, you could also bury your OWN ancestors Body.

so, please, be sure of understand others post before to harrass anybody.

firstly to answer your question, he was calling you a dumb ass, secondly what of people who don't die? it sucks ass to be at a disadvantaged just because you can stay alive...

if you want to get rid of the body adventure destroy
if you want to respect your remains place them somewhere nice and put a runestone above them
if you want to loot a corpse get theft
if you want bonuses for getting killed, you need take another look at what you're asking

edit: if you got bonuses for being killed day 1 of the game would involve someone luring a bear or boar to thier hf and getting killed, inheriting(gaining or losing nothing) then going back to that same hf with that same aggresive animal killing you again, rinse and repeat...do it a few dozen times then start a real character, new character inherits(getting nothing) but gets to bury all those ancestors getting a huge bonus. how stupid does that sound, guy who dies several dozen times gets bonuses while people who were grinding get nothing?

THANKYOU.

But all in all Jorb said it plain and simple, he doesn't want anyone getting extra rewards for getting yourself killed. That's why it's a PERMA DEATH game, you DON'T WANT TO DIE. Creating a system where death isn't as bad would totally negate the entire point of this.
