That wrap only lets you walk from 1 side of the world to the other, the files that hold all this information wouldn't be saved with this "wrap around"

All the more that needs to be said. Just cause you nooblets haven't been around long enough to see a world larger than 5x5 doesn't mean they haven't existed.

If the world edges did "wrap around" (the American term for it, not sure if it's universal), then those issues would be:

What if there were a claim extending over the edge? What side would it go to? It's even more of a problem with a village claim and flags/banners.

What if someone built a wall overlapping the edge? Would it get split?

what if someone built a house overlapping the edge?

Suppose more could be listed, but I think that's enough. Solve those three problems, and you can probably solve them all.

'You can't build that there.'

Problem solved? Just have narrow strips of land at the edges to be connected that doesn't allow for anything to spawn or placed on it. It would look weird and unnatural BUT it works.

I like this idea. I see no reason why anyone would absolutely need to build across the wraparound point, so it should be a safe to put an artificial barrier there.

If it wrapped around East-West then it would be cylindrical and if it was East-West and North-South the correct term is a Torus/toroidal, but doughnut shape is probably more widely understood.

I'd need to know more about the engine but I'd say it'd be pretty easy to solve all the issues raised, it'd be annoying and I'm sure there would still be bugs but its probably quite plausible. The other solution would be to put an ocean/lake running down the join, make it 51 tiles wide at the narrowest and theres your fix, although you'd still have the issues underground... bottomless ocean, deep water on every underground level!

All in all I think its more effort than its worth, even if it is as simple as I think it should be. -1
