With that bit said, and a relevant thought, perhaps other forms of alcohol as well, with varying effects. I know 'drunk' is 'drunk', but I like to think slugging down a few tankards of warm mead and sipping on a glass of fine wine have a 'different' effect, at least socially, in my eyes. Booze had a big part in Norse history and culture, as well as other Germanic heritages (and many others also.), so I think the 'part' alcohol has is a bit under-utilised.
I personally like to be able to make great use of all my tools and skills, and having 'useless' or 'obsolete' skills can be sort of a downer, not something that will kill my urge to play, but can certainly be boring. The time it takes to gather the Learning Points to get the more 'appreciated' skills is long and tedious. I'd like to enjoy what I have while I play-out to the future.
Ancestral worship and that whole concept could be taken a lot father, as well. Religion 'unifies' as well as 'seperates' people. Perhaps certain idols/statues/etc. could be raised to sacrifice numen points to for wisdom (learning points or something, I don't know)? I personally am a very spiritual person and take pride in my heritage (I think others should more, too) and when I found this it drew an inner 'interest' from me that I can not find in many games. It'd also give more reason to murder/raid, if you think about it. Wars have been fought over many things, religion being one.
I realise this game is still in alpha, but I just enjoy it quite a bit and it stirs a lot of 'creativity' in me for some reason (probably an obvious one). I'll probably edit this or something with more ideas, hopefully these aren't unoriginal thoughts or have been posted before.
Feel free to toss in mutual/integratable thoughts/ideas. Any ideas in general are welcome too though.
